What is rapid network diagnostics?

A fixed-scope, time-boxed engagement to find the root cause of a network outage or slowdown. We agree the timeline in writing up front, collect data from your devices and traffic, and deliver a written report that names the cause and ranks the fixes.

What kinds of problems do you diagnose?

Intermittent slowness, outages, failover that behaves unexpectedly, WAN and SD-WAN performance, firewall and NAT issues, and problems that appear after a migration or a change.

How long does a diagnostic take?

The timeline is set in the scope before work starts and depends on the size of the environment. A single site is shorter than an engagement spanning several sites. You get the commitment in writing.

What do you need from us to start?

A point of contact, read-only access (or a screen share) to the affected devices and monitoring tools, any network diagrams you have, and a description of the symptoms: what is slow, where, and since when.

Do you fix the problem or only diagnose it?

Both are available. Many engagements are diagnostics plus a written report, so your team or another vendor can implement the fixes. When you want us to fix what we find, we scope that separately so the diagnostic price stays predictable.

Why does failover sometimes break active sessions?

Stateful firewalls track each connection. If traffic leaves through one path and the reply returns through a different firewall or site, that firewall has no record of the session and drops it. A failover design has to keep the forward and return paths together, or make the connection state available on the new path.

What is asymmetric routing?

It is when packets travel one path in one direction and a different path coming back. It is harmless on a simple network, but it breaks stateful firewalls and NAT, and it makes troubleshooting slower because each direction tells a different story.

How do you migrate a firewall or data center without downtime?

By rehearsing. We rebuild the relevant part of the network in a lab, test the cutover steps and every failure case, then execute in small windows that can each be reversed, with a written change guide for each device.

Do you work with Palo Alto Networks, Cisco ACI and AWS?

Yes: Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama, Cisco ACI and data center networks, and AWS Landing Zone and Control Tower environments. See the service pages for how we approach each.

Can government agencies buy from you directly?

Yes. SovTech Consulting is a small business certified firm, a GSA MAS contract holder (contract 47QSMS24D004Y) and holds a California CMAS contract. Our capability statement lists the NAICS codes and contract details.

Where are you located, and who do you serve?

We are based in Sacramento, California. We work with government agencies, non-profits and commercial organizations, onsite and remotely.

Is SovTech Consulting related to other companies named SovTech?

No. SovTech Consulting LLC is an independent Sacramento firm led by Olushile Akintade, CCIE. It is not affiliated with software development companies that have similar names.
